Course Inspiration

Among the thousand's of people worldwide who have taken a Permaculture Design Certification Course, the most common feedback from graduates is the desire for more hands-on experience. Along with this inspiration to make positive changes externally on the Earth and in society, we realize that we must also tend to Ôø‡Zone ZeroÔø‡ - the inner landscape, to design and implement patterns and practices that nourish ourselves in the context of our work. This course is inspired by the desire of permaculture enthusiasts all around the world to have more hands-on experience, to Ôø‡leave a trace,Ôø‡ and to Ôø‡be the changeÔø‡ they wish to see in the world - within and without.

Course Description

Closely following the Aloha Ôø‡Aina Holistic Permaculture Design Course will be a special week-long, hands-on practicum. The Hands-On Practicum will be focused on taking the skills we develop during the Holistic Permaculture Design Course and applying them into the design and installation of a tropical food forest garden near Pahoa on the BIg Island. This course will also be focused on tending to the inner landscape, and we will be nourishing ourselves with a diet of exquisite Raw Food meals prepared by Bruce Horowitz and friends from R.I.P.E., the Raw Institute of Permaculture Education.
