Earth Activist Training
Permaculture Design Course

This unique permaculture design certificate course has an additional focus on earth-based spirituality, organizing, activism, and social permaculture. The Aloha ‘Aina Holistic Permaculture Design Course will include the standard 72-hour permaculture design curriculum based upon the original Mollison and Holmgren ideas and design philosophies published in The Permaculture Designer’s Manual, as well as be a nourishing retreat and hands-on immersion experience of sustainable living ecovillage design. In addition to the standard permaculture design certification curriculum, we recognize permaculture as an expanding, holistic design philosophy encompassing many fields. At a time of global climate change, depletion of resources, pollution of water, decline of the ocean’s fisheries, huge losses of top soil, and widespread destruction and contamination of vital ecosystems worldwide... there has never been a more important time to learn and implement cutting-edge technologies for bioremediation and ecosystem restoration. This course will concentrate on learning & applying whole systems design to remediate toxic spills combining three of the most promising techniques for remediating spills and building soil: bioremediation, mycoremediation, and carbon farming. During the course we will learn the processes, functions, and the application of these appropriate technologies in the context of permaculture design and hands-on experience, with a focus on designing integrative solutions and applying them to actual oil spill sites on St. Croix. We are inspired and grateful to be offering this holistic, regenerative retreat and skill based workshop for people and the planet combining personal healing & nourishment with tangible skills in sustainability and Earth regeneration at the beautiful oaisis of Grace Grove Retreat Center in Sedona Arizona.
